“Dessidents” is a photobook of Takashi Hamaguchi who has been recording for over 60 years as a documentary photographer. It compiles his records of two anti-government protests, the student protest and Narita struggle, from the end of the 1960s to the end of the 1970s. The pagination of the photo corresponds to the time when it was actually taken, and the varnish-only page represents the year when the protests subsided. The layout in varnish printing, which spans dozens of pages in the latter half, is intended to lead to photographs of student demonstrations protesting against the security legislation in front of the National Diet Building in 2015. The sleeve case with five sheets of layered paper represents the helmet color used during the protests.
