Tanaka is in charge of sign planning, catalogues and PR materials for the exhibition “Cosmo-Eggs” at Japan pavilion of the 58th Venice Biennale International Art Exhibition and at the Artizon Museum.
With curator Hiroyuki Hattori, this exhibition is a collaborative project between four artists from different fields: artist, composer, anthropologist and architect. It is an attempt to think about where and how we can live and build a platform for imagining the ecology where humans and non-humans coexist. From this overlap, the project asks about the ecology of coexistence. Observing how different creators create an exhibition starting from a megalith called “tsunami ishi (stone)” that was moved from the seabed to the ground by the tsunami, and the process of overlapping over time.
This process is developed into the V.I. The retuned exhibition reproduces the Japan pavilion in Giardini at 90 % reduction, and the corridor created by walls is made of materials suitable for documentation as sign and panels, and fastened with a simple stapler.
