We designed the main visuals, signage, and promotional materials for the exhibition “The Future of Artisanal Beauty – Vessels Wrappings Decorations,” which focuses on contemporary Japanese craft. The exhibition showcases ten curated artists who combine traditional craft practices with the expressive and conceptual aspects of contemporary art. Through their works, it introduces new possibilities for free-form craft and emerging trends in the field. It was held at TERRADA ART COMPLEX Ⅱ in Tennozu, Tokyo, before traveling to Kenninji Temple in Kyoto. Reflecting the theme of “bringing art and craft from Japan to the world,” we structured the logo so that Japanese, Chinese, and English carry equal weight. We chose distinctive typefaces—from historically rooted Song and serif fonts to modern gothic styles—to highlight each language’s character while achieving a sense of harmony among the different elements. Maintaining a vertical layout lends the logo a distinctly Japanese impression, and the variable typography allows it to adapt flexibly across various formats.
